Featuring a keynote address by renowned playwright Ian Ross and a lineup of conversation animators from within the arts sector, this provocative community gathering will inspire new pathways and solutions to address the crisis facing the arts in Manitoba. Conversation animators include; Leslie Supnet, Geneviève Pelletier, Synonym Art Consultation, Debra Fehr, and Jenel Shaw.
Get ready for inspiring mind shifts and thought-provoking conversations on how we can reach and engage new audiences, along with practical tools and tips that you can immediately put into action.
The program will bring 50 to 60 senior members of Manitoba’s arts community together for a day of sharing, learning, and exploring the challenges facing the arts in a post pandemic world. The pandemic disrupted the arts in many ways and the impacts will resonate for years to come. The arts were essentially closed for more than 2 years, leading to critical labour shortages and changes in audience patterns. Compounded by shifting demographics, the arts is now at a crossroads unlike anything the sector has previously faced.
The Arts Ideas Summit will provide opportunities to begin addressing the daunting climb back to financial and labour stability. The event is designed to provide learning opportunities – giving participants practical tools as well as new ways of thinking about challenges. Further the event will foster animated conversations among sector leaders.
Whether you're an artist, arts professional, or simply passionate about the arts, the Arts and Culture Ideas Summit is the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and work towards a brighter future for Manitoba's arts and culture sector. Don't miss out on this unique and engaging event - join us today!
